Our extremely popular coins have been distributed to every state in the nation, and to 48 different countries around the world. As of January 2018 we have created 17 different coins, with no signs of stopping. All of our tokens have become highly valued collectibles. Catch up on the entire Dig That Box arcade token collection and learn the history behind each of our special coins.

Each Dig That Box collectible coin starts with a vision from out site founder, Elliott S. Thomas. However, none of these coins would be possible without the partnership of some of the most talented artists and graphic designers in the business.

Coins #1 through #15 were co-created by Elliott S. Thomas and artist Christian George-Morehouse. Christian is an extremely talented graphic designer. He is widely considered one of the best in his field. This multi-talented artist has also produced several amazing custom made toys and movie prop replicas that have been sold to dealers and collectors all around the Globe. His attention to detail and his commitment to perfection are unmatched. To this day Christian still designs all of the packaging used for our coins, and he also does all of the graphic design work on our website. His artistic creations will return on future coins at a later date.

Coins #16 and #17 were a collaborative effort between several creative forces. The "Lost" Explorer coin was co-created by well renown retro gaming artist Vladimir Zuniga, also known has VHZC, and site founder Elliott S. Thomas. Coin #17 was jointly created by three different people. The front of the coin features a logo born from the extremely creative minds at Retro-Bit.com. One of our greatest coins was also one of the most difficult to photograph. This coin was so shiny that every time we took photos we were forced to tone down the lustre so that you could actually see the coin detail. The yellow brass version was limited to just 1000 units and is no longer available from this site.

FUN FACT: Although this was the first coin we minted in 2016, it was actually the last to be distributed to our readers in that year. This is why it is listed as the third coin in our 2016 roster.

Arcade_Tokens/Adventure-Token.JPG

Production Date: 5/05/2017
Number of Units: 1000
Material: Yellow Brass
Size: 1.125" Diameter

There's quite an amazing story behind the "lost" Dig That Box Treasure Hunter Token, and if you have one, you own an extremely rare collectible. We originally planned to release this coin at a popular gaming expo in Los Angeles. Unfortunately we did not meet the deadline for logo approval. Worse yet, we were confronted with a new fee for distributing our coins. A massive $30,000. In the past we had always distributed these coins for free in partnership with various exhibitors at the show, so paying this kind of money was simply out of the question. Since the coins were dated for a show that we did not attend, the entire batch had to be destroyed. We decided to have the coins melted down for their valuable raw materials. Unfortunately while at the recycling plant in East Los Angeles the coins disappeared. We don't know if they were stolen by employees of the plant or if they were taken by someone visiting the location. Either way, our beloved Treasure Hunter Token had disappared for good. A handful of these coins leaked out to our family members and friends. However the vast majority of the coins, an estimated 98.5%, have vanished into the jungles of Los Angeles, never to be seen again.

FUN FACT: When we first received this batch of coins from the mint, we sent a small sample to our artist who lives in Chile. Unfortunately the coins that we sent him were lost in the mail! This coin is truly the "lost" Dig That Box arcade token!

This finely detailed coin is the start of a new tradition here at Dig That Box.
