07/14/2016 - Fruit Ninja New Ghostbusters UpdateBust ghosts in the new Fruit Ninja Ghostbusters update
Successful brand
IP integration gets a sequel
BRISBANE, Australia – July 14th, 2016
Halfbrick Studios, creator of hit mobile games Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, is excited to announce the
return of the Ghostbusters™ franchise to Fruit Ninja.
Created in collaboration with
Sony Pictures Consumer Products, the Fruit Ninja Ghostbusters update sees players battling with iconic Ghostbusters
characters and ghosts from the new and old films in an epic tournament mode. The update also introduces a new gameplay mechanic,
in which players must draw circles around ghosts in order to ‘capture’ them and turn them into tokens which can
then be redeemed for the grand prize: a powerful new blade and dojo.
The update, slated to go live on iOS and Google
Play on July 11th, coincides with the release of the new Ghostbuster s movie on July 15.
Halfbrick and
Sony Pictures previously collaborated on updates for Fruit Ninja and Monster Dash as part of the Ghostbusters
30th year anniversary in 2014. The Ghostbusters blade and dojo are still available for purchase within Fruit Ninja,
while Monster Dash players can purchase Peter Venkman as a playable character and the Proton Pack as a special weapon.
“Our brands have worked well together and when the new Ghostbusters was announced, we knew we had to
bring the latest characters, proton gear and ghosts back to Fruit Ninja. Our fans are in for a treat with what Halfbrick
has done in this update,” said Mark Caplan, Senior Vice President, Consumer Products, for Sony Pictures Entertainment.
“The original Ghostbusters update is one of our most successful brand integrations. The opportunity
to work on such a beloved franchise and bring something new for Fruit Ninja fans was an easy decision because we
know our fans will love it,” said Nicholas Cornelius, Chief Marketing Officer at Halfbrick.
To further celebrate
the update, Halfbrick is teaming up with digital agency SXM Entertainment to broadcast a real-life Fruit Ninja tournament
on Facebook Live. Warriors will use their weapon of choice to chop a cocktail of different fruits coming at them in real time,
and viewers will be able to vote on their favourite and crown them champion of the tournament.

07/13/2016 - Square-Enix Collective Raises Over One Million USD for Indie DevsSQUARE ENIX COLLECTIVE HAS HELPED RAISE OVER $1,000,000 USD FOR INDIE DEVELOPERS
SO FAR LONDON,
July 13: Square Enix Collective™, the indie-support and publishing initiative from Square Enix®, is celebrating
a major milestone today as the total money raised via crowdfunding by teams assisted by Collective has now surpassed the $1,000,000
USD mark.
With the exception of last month’s successful Fear Effect Sedna™ campaign, all of the projects supported were based on original IP,
from small teams all around the world.
Since 2014, Square Enix Collective has helped around 100 developers build
awareness and collect feedback via the Collective website, and some of those selected projects have been successfully crowdfunded
as a result.
2016 brings the first games to be published by Square Enix Collective, with upcoming E3 hits The Turing
Test™ (August 2016) and Black The Fall™ (Late 2016) joining the platform’s first release, Goetia, which
enjoys a 98% positive rating on Steam and a Metacritic rating of 82 at the time of writing.
With the aim of publishing
up to ten games per year, Square Enix Collective enables developers to retain all rights to any original IP, as well as creative
control and the majority of net revenue.
Later this year, similar to Fear Effect, Square Enix Collective plans
to open up further selected Eidos® IP for developers to pitch for as a means of helping them generate greater awareness.
Meanwhile, every project that is supported through crowdfunding by Square Enix Collective undergoes a Team Assessment
to check on the development team’s experience, capabilities, and planning.
“The data clearly shows
that new teams with their own projects are finding it increasingly challenging to build awareness for their games, and even
harder to raise meaningful amounts via crowdfunding,” said Phil Elliott, creator and project lead on Square Enix
Collective.
“We’re delighted to have been able to use our Team Assessments to help build greater
trust between blossoming talent and forward-thinking gamers, as well as open up our channels to spread the word and help drive
interest.”
Square Enix Collective was first announced in 2013 and fully launched in 2014. Since then,
it has posted almost 100 pitches on the Collective website, helped teams raise over $1,000,000 USD via Kickstarter, and signed
a number of teams to investment and/or publishing deals.
-Square Enix Collective is an initiative that provides
a range of services to independent developers to help them raise the profile of their projects, and bring them to market.
Services include:
- Community-building
via the Collective Feedback platform
- Support through
crowdfunding for selected projects
- Publishing and
marketing services (including QA and platform relations)
- A
limited number of production investments for specific projects

platform or supported through funding, please contact your local PR rep or directly via: collective@square-enix.com

07/12/2016 - 7th Dragon III Code VFD Now Available in the Americas 7th Dragon III Code: VFD
Now Available in the Americas - Just Don't Let the Dragons Consume You SEGA of America's Newest Dungeon Crawler is Now Available Physically and Digitally for the Nintendo 3DS
IRVINE, Calif. - July 12, 2016 - Prepare to fight through the fire and flames, because 7th Dragon
III Code: VFD is now available in the Americas. With dragons descending upon humanity and darkness shrouding the Earth,
it's time to suit and go hunting in this turn-based, dungeon-crawling JRPG game spanning three distinct time periods. Prospective
heroes will have a wealth of character customization options and unique classes to choose from in order to build the perfect
dragon hunting squad. Players will also have the chance to upgrade their base at Nodens HQ, date and build relationships with
team members, manage a cat café (you read that correctly), and much more! 7th Dragon III Code: VFD is now
available for $39.99/CA$54.99 in retail stores and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS.
In 7th Dragon
III Code: VFD, the world is engulfed in a time of darkness and great peril. In the year 2100, dragons have descended
upon Earth and humanity is at the mercy of these terrifying beasts. However, not all is lost. As the protagonist, the player
will team up with Nodens Enterprises - a video game company dedicated to stopping the dragon menace - to become a dragon hunter
and eventual savior of the universe. Although times are bleak, Nodens Enterprises has found a way to tip the scales in favor
of mankind: By traveling through time to three different eras, the protagonist can upset the balance of the dragons' power.
This will give them the edge to defeat the True Dragons, and stand a chance against the most powerful one of them all... the
7th Dragon: VFD.
In a quest for the ages, players will explore numerous dungeons in the mythical kingdom of Atlantis,
futuristic capital of the land of Eden, and present-day Tokyo. Fighting enemies and dragons can't be done by just one person,
so thankfully the protagonist won't be doing it alone. The main character can be joined by two squad members in the field,
and have up to nine characters in their party. With eight distinct classes, 40 voice options, and 96 appearance variations,
gamers can create and customize the perfect dragon hunting team to their heart's content. Each dragon takes immense skill
and cunning strategy to defeat, so choosing the right squad - and right look - is paramount.
Besides traveling
through time and desperately trying to save the Earth , the team can unwind at Nodens Enterprises HQ where they can develop
character skills, participate in numerous side quests, and even go on dates. Moreover, new floors can be added to the building
with essential support areas such as a library, skylounge, cat café, and evacuation wards. Wait, cat café? That's
right - stray cats can be rescued during dungeon crawls and brought back HQ to lounge at the cat café. And yes, while
people can be rescued as well, cats are clearly the priority.
7th Dragon III Code: VFD will is now
available exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS systems in the Americas for $39.99/CA$54.99. The game is rated T by the ESRB. For
