01/08/2015 - New Alpha for Tachyon Reef Now Available
Indie Game Press Release Submission: Tachyon Reef

Tachyon Reef Offers Players Casual Gaming in a Wondrous Underwater World to Explore and Discover

Offering a new take to submarine explorer games, Tachyon Reef is available in alpha and is seeking the Greenlight on Steam.  Currently available for download from TachyonReef.com, Tachyon Reef gives players a unique approach to the underwater exploration genre with a low-poly graphic style and a world like no other.

Players assume the role of commander of a high-tech submersible with the mission of attaining new technologies for humanity.  After entering a portal discovered in the Arctic Ocean which leads to a new an distant and unexplored portion of the ocean, the player will discover new creatures and artifacts as they upgrade their submersible to go deeper and further into the sea.

Creator Quentin Preik, developer at Five Archers, tells us that the game will be a relaxing experience with few tense moments.  Players will not require sharp gamer reflexes to succeed at Tachyon Reef, but will instead rely on management skills and the knowledge they gain through the game.  Players will have the option to remain in calmer, safer waters or venture into the dark and dangerous distance.

Tachyon Reef is full of unique and colorful creatures and will offer players an exciting visual experience.  The variety of the game pays homage to the mass of undiscovered ocean we have yet to explore and is sure to feature several Easter Eggs.

“I’d like to have things feel realistic but also not be too intimidating,” says Preik.  “I will definitely come down on the side of fun. The game will also lean towards scifi.”

Tachyon Reef appeals to a wide range of gamers to include casual and scifi fans and will be available across all platforms; PC, Mac, and Linux.  Players will use a familiar in-game points system to earn and redeem points as they drop deeper and further into the game.

Tachyon Reef is scheduled for release in the final quarter of 2015 and has been featured on HardcoreGamer.com (

01/07/2014 - Star Trek Alien Domain Announces Second Closed Beta
Star Trek: Alien Domain Announces Second Closed Beta

Details Revealed Regarding In-Game Officer System

Everett, Wash. - January 7, 2015 - GameSamba today announced the upcoming second closed beta test of the new free-to-play online strategy game, Star Trek: Alien Domain™, and has also revealed details regarding the in-game Officer System.

Set many years after the events of Star Trek: Voyager™, Star Trek: Alien Domain™ allows players to take on the role of a new Federation or Klingon captain as they become trapped in the unexplored realm of fluidic space. Following the game's first closed beta test, which ran from December 1-12, Closed Beta 2 will begin later this month on January 15 at 6:00p.m. PST.

The Officer System is one of several features improved in response to feedback received during the first closed beta test. After reaching a designated point in the game's quest line, players will have the opportunity to recruit officers from their respective factions who have also been stranded in fluidic space. These recruitable officers are non-playable characters whose roles span the full variety of crew positions that Star Trek fans will be familiar with, including captains, engineers, scientists, security officers, and more.

Each NPC has his or her own unique set of skills that will help players in exploration or battle, and by leveling these officers, their bonus effects can be improved. In addition, the official Star Trek: Alien Domain™ website will feature short biographical information on each of the NPC officers. GameSamba is currently hosting a community event on the official ST:AD forum where fans of the game can compete for their chance to name and create a personal backstory for some of these characters.
