COMPANY OF HEROES 2 ‘VICTORY AT STALINGRAD’ DLC LAUNCHING NEXT WEEK, TODAY READY FOR PRE-SELL AT 10% OFF

SEGA today announced that ‘Victory at Stalingrad’ premium content will be launching next week for Company of Heroes™2’s Theater of War mode and is available for pre-sell on Steam from today until Monday for 10% off. ‘Victory at Stalingrad’ will go live on Steam on November 12, 2013, for $9.99 as part of the ‘Turning Point’ update. The ‘Victory at Stalingrad’ mini-pack includes the following content:

Co-Op Scenario: Kalach Pincer
70 kilometers west of Stalingrad, Soviet forces must move rapidly to secure key locations and resources about the town of Kalach before mounting the final attack on the vital bridge across the River Don.

Solo Challenge: Tatsinskaya Raid
The Red Army's 24th Tank Corps is headed deep into enemy territory to take the German airfield at Tatsinskaya and destroy the aircraft that keeps trapped German forces supplied in Stalingrad.

Solo Challenge: Bridge Defense
Forced to wait for air units to be ready, the Red Army has had to delay Operation Uranus at the last minute. Irregular and Partisan forces have already moved to secure a key bridge across the Don River and must now hold out against determined German attacks.

AI Battle: Winter Storm
The Wehrmacht has launched Operation Winter Storm in an attempt to relieve their Sixth Army in Stalingrad. Soviet forces must block this attack to prevent the fascists from escaping the city.

AI Battle: Stalingrad Resistance
The Soviets defend the blown out Stalingrad inch by inch, all the while looking to the skies as the German Luftwaffe drops bombs on any target they can find.

AI Battle: Stalingrad Encirclement
Months of bloody close-quarter fighting have led to a decisive turning point for control of Stalingrad. Most of the German 6th Army has been left cut off and surrounded in the city. The Red Army must repulse a breakout attempt by the exhausted German forces.

As well as the ‘Victory at Stalingrad’ mini-pack, the ‘Turning Point’ update also includes new premium commanders ($2.99) and skins ($1.99) which will be available to purchase on the Steam store.

As previously announced, free content for ‘Turning Point’ includes the strongly requested community feature Company of Heroes 2 World Builder, a total of four Commanders new to the game’s multiplayer and skirmish modes, two community created and two additional Commanders, as well as two new multiplayer maps, ‘Rails and Metal’ and ‘Lazur Factory’.

11/07/2013 - Contra Inspired Game Bullet Bros Launches New Kickstarter
Bullet Bros - A Tribute to Contra and Other Gaming Classics

A one man team bites the “bullet” and decides to make his dream game.

If you’ve been a gamer for a while now, you might have fond memories of Contra. Luckily, Bullet Bros, a new Kickstarter project created by Jason Stokes, aims to breathe new life into the classic shooter genre.

Inspired by his love for games like Contra, Super Mario Bros 3, Bionic Commando, and Blaster Master, Stokes wanted to start a project that combined some of his favorite game mechanics together to see if they could co-exist. "I wanted to create a game where the player has all the tools at their disposal to play creatively." says Stokes. The vehicle linking mechanic, which lets players link vehicles together into wacky new combinations, is a great example of this creative gameplay Stokes is shooting for. If you’re flying a helicopter, for instance, you can swoop down and airlift your friend driving a battle tank. You can help him out and carry him over large gaps and obstacles, or you could just fling him off into a pile of enemies and let him fend for himself. “Sorry Bro!”

Stokes has been self-funding the project thus far, and he is looking for help from the Kickstarter community to take the game to PC and other platforms. Bullet Bros needs $80,000 to hit its minimum funding goal. Hitting this goal will see the game through its PC release, equivalent in size to the old Contra games; 10 levels, each with a unique “big bad” boss, 10 vehicles, unique music for each level, and local co-op. The Bros will have access to different utility items such as Grappling Hooks, Parachutes, Sandbags, Grenades, with more to be added along the way.

With the help of the community, Stokes is hoping to reach some stretch goals, including a huge world map with 90-plus levels, secret objectives, mini-games, more robust vehicle linking, Bro Links (who wouldn’t want to link up with their best friend and battle bad guys together?!), and more. At the $120,000 level we see online co-op added, and at the $490,000 level we’ll see a 4 vs. 4 team deathmatch!

If Bullet Bros can make its fundraising goal by December 6th, you can expect to see it on PC in November of 2014. To check out the project, watch some gameplay footage, and/or contribute funds to the project, visit Bullet Bros at its
Kickstarter page. Let’s make it happen, bro!
