03/08/2012 - Fishlans Releases Galaxy on Fire 2 Add-On
Valkyrie HD – Off to new Adventures on iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the new iPad!

Fishlabs releases ValkyrieTM, the first add-on for their sci-fi flagship title Galaxy on Fire 2TM, in a graphically enhanced HD version specifically designed for iPhone 4S and iPad 2. Furthermore, all iOS versions of the main game and the add-on support the Retina display of the new iPad.

Hamburg, Germany - March 8th, 2012 – The wait is over: Valkyrie™, the first add-on for the award-winning science fiction epic Galaxy on Fire 2™ by Fishlabs Entertainment, is now available in High Definition for iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and does already support the new iPad (aka iPad 3) Retina display. The add-on takes up where the main game Galaxy on Fire 2™ left off and puts the series’ protagonist, Keith T. Maxwell, right in the middle of another impending crisis with evil aliens, ruthless space pirates and power-crazy wretches all casting a dark shadow over the universe. Mac users will presumably be able to experience the add-on about four weeks after its iOS release: Valkyrie™ Full HD is currently scheduled for April 2012.

In the last couple of months, the complete graphical overhaul of Fishlabs’ popular outer space adventure’s first add-on was right on top of the company’s agenda together with the development of the recently announced second expansion pack Supernova™. With elaborate new 3D assets for all space crafts, space stations and heavenly bodies as well as spectacular new post-, explosion- and special effects, Valkyrie™ HD looks more stunning than ever before and offers its fans a cinematic experience in  AAA-console game quality.

To celebrate the release of Valkyrie™ HD and say “Thank you” for the loyalty and support of its long-time fans, Fishlabs also has two nice surprises up its sleeve. One the one hand, the regular version of Galaxy on Fire 2™ (SD) will be sold for half its original price ($ 4,99/ EUR 3,99/ GBP 2,99) until March 11th, 2012. And on the other hand, all fans, who own the afore-mentioned SD-version of the game, will be able to unlock the red-hot HD-version of the add-on for free. However, the installation of Valkyrie™ HD still requires the possession of an iPhone 4S or iPad 2 as well as the previous purchase of HD-version of the main game Galaxy on Fire 2™ (HD).

Simultaneously with the new add-on, Fishlabs has also released a free Retina update, which optimizes all iOS versions of the main game Galaxy on Fire 2™ and the add-on Valkyrie™ (SD and HD) for the new iPad. Hence, all space adventurers exploring the galaxy on the new iPad will be able to fully showcase the new hardware and enjoy Fishlabs’ flagship title in stunning 2048 by 1536 pixel resolution as soon as Apple’s highly anticipated new tablet is available on the market. As a matter of course, the title’s user interface and all control elements have been re-adjusted for a perfect gaming experience on the new iPad.

Features of Valkyrie™ HD:
• All 3D models rebuilt from scratch for console-quality visuals and a crystal-clear gaming experience on iPad 2 and iPhone 4S
• Assets, such as jump gates and asteroids, feature even more textures and up to four-times the original resolution
• Individual texture sets for all 30 spaceships including diffuse, normal, and specular maps in High Definition
• Enhanced background images and resolution on space environments and planets for a crystal-clear gaming experience on iPad 2 and iPhone 4S
• Additional light sources for atmosphere and breathtaking realism
• Additional OpenGL shaders and post effects as well as heavily revised explosion, engine flare and muzzle flash special effects
• Native support for HD resolutions of 2048 by 1536 pixel (new iPad / iPad 3), 1024 by 768 pixel (iPad 2) or 960 by 640 pixel (iPhone 4S)

Valkyrie™ HD is now available via in-app purchase for the price of $ 4,99/ EUR 3,99/ GBP 2,99

In the course of the launch of Galaxy on Fire 2™ HD – Valkyrie, Fishlabs has also made the infamous Kaamo Club available in High Definition. This floating den of iniquity can either be obtained in-game or purchased via in-app purchase and used as a storage facility for valuable goods and additional space ships.

About  Galaxy on Fire 2™ HD - Valkyrie:
The new storyline of Valkyrie™ HD confronts Keith T. Maxwell, the hot-headed protagonist of Galaxy on Fire 2™, with a sly and devious opponent. When a high-ranking scientist is kidnapped and the prototype of a revolutionary new technology is stolen, Keith has to team up with the secretive Deep Science society once again in order to save the universe from its impending doom on the hands of a power-crazy maniac. On board of the mysterious Valkyrie station, which is commanded by the shady weapons dealer Alice, he ends up right in the middle of a tight net of betrayals and intrigues, whose sudden conclusion results in an unexpected twist and thundering show-down that puts the safety and freedom of the whole galaxy at stake.

03/05/2012 - Razer Hydra Gets New Game Support
Left 4 Dead 2, Half-Life 2 and Team Fortress 2 Now Support Full Motion Play With The Razer Hydra

Razer and Sixense launch full motion gaming support for Valve game titles and software integration with Steam

Game Developers Conference, San Francisco, Calif. – March 5th, 2012 – Razer, the world leader in high-performance gaming hardware, together with Sixense Entertainment, the leader in precision motion technology, announce fully integrated motion gaming support for Valve’s game titles including Left 4 Dead 2, Half-Life 2, and Team Fortress 2 using the Razer Hydra motion sensing controller. Future Valve titles Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will also support full motion play with the Razer Hydra.

Additionally, Sixense and Valve have now integrated Sixense MotionCreatorTM 2.0 software with Valve’s Steam gaming platform, enabling backward compatibility for motion gaming with the Razer Hydra for over 250 of the most popular titles on Steam. Now, Steam users will receive automatic motion control updates for current and future game titles, and a new in-game overlay allows gamers to view control maps for the Razer Hydra as they play.

“The Razer Hydra’s magnetic motion-sensing technology is the fastest and most precise to deliver a level of gaming immersion other motion-sensing tech in the industry right now can only dream of. Gamers are going to experience Valve’s new and legacy games in an amazing and fun way,” said Robert ‘RazerGuy’ Krakoff, President, Razer USA.

“Sixense is excited to bring the Razer Hydra motion gaming experience to the Steam community,” said Amir Rubin, CEO and Co-Founder, Sixense. “By wrapping Sixense MotionCreator inside Steam, the PC and Mac gaming platform of choice for both gamers and developers, we are able to provide plug-and-play functionality for the Razer Hydra to showcase our innovative motion gaming modes across game genres.”

The Razer Hydra is the world’s first PC gaming-grade motion-sensing peripheral to use an electromagnetic field to track your hand movements as you hold two ultra-precise motion sensing controllers. Because the Razer Hydra tracks the position of your hands down to a millimeter and degree, saving the world in Half-Life 2, cutting down zombies in Left 4 Dead 2, and pushing the cart in Team Fortress 2 will be a highly intuitive and immersive affair.

In response to significant demand from developers, Sixense has created Mac OS and Linux versions of the Sixense SDK (Software Development Kit) for the Razer Hydra. The Mac, Linux and Windows versions are now available for download from Steam. The Sixense SDK allows developers to quickly and easily create immersive gaming experiences that take advantage of the Razer Hydra’s full six degrees of motion freedom.

Game developers and independent software vendors who are interested in porting their current games or developing future games based on the Razer Hydra and Sixense motion sensing platform are invited to write to
dev@sixense.com.
