LAND O'LAKES, FLORIDA - April 27, 2011 – Artix Entertainment, the indie game development studio that delivers download-free browser-based RPGs to 130 million users, has become a sponsor of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life® to help the fight against cancer.   The entire Artix development team will be at the event.

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is an event where participants walk around a track in celebration of the lives of people who battled cancer, in memory of loved ones who have lost their lives to cancer, and to fight back against the disease. Because cancer never sleeps, the relay is an overnight event where people will be walking the track during the day and throughout the night.  The event will last 18 hours starting on April 29th at 6 PM on the track at Sunlake High School.

More than 20 teams and 250 individuals will be participating in the relay to raise awareness and funds to save lives from cancer. At least one member from each team will be walking the track at all times.  A Luminaria ceremony will begin after dark on the first night of the relay, April 29th. During the ceremony, candles will be lit and placed inside sand-filled bags to honor the people who have been touched by cancer and to remember loved ones who lost their lives to the disease. A silent lap around the track will follow the ceremony.

"We are very excited to be supporting the Relay for Life. Any event where you battle one of the most dangerous diseases on the planet by walking around in circles for 18-hours straight... COUNT US IN!" said Adam Bohn, CEO of Artix Entertainment, LLC. “And we encourage everyone who can, to make a small donation to this noble cause.”
