Chicago Transit Authority Bans Video Game Advertising!

subway.jpg

Earlier this year, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) banned advertisements for video games rated M or AO on its trains, buses, and stations.

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) filed suit against the CTA, challenging the CTA's prohibition on certain computer and video game advertisements as a violation of the guarantees of free speech under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, charges the CTA with unfairly targeting the computer and video game industry by enacting an ordinance that selectively bans advertisements of computer and video games rated "Mature 17+" (M) or "Adults Only 18+" (AO).

Unfortunately, this isn't the first or last attack on computer and video games. ESA is doing its part, now it's time to do yours.
Spread the word about the VGVN to five friends today to help defend computer and video games from unconstitutional legislative assaults.

PlayStation Home Gets its First Graveyard as
Burn Zombie Burn! PlayStation Home Space Opens

GUILDFORD, ENGLAND, July 30, 2009 - Kuju Entertainment and developer doublesix today announced the opening of the first graveyard in PlayStation®Home, in the brand-new Burn Zombie Burn! PlayStation® Home Space.

The Burn Zombie Burn! PlayStation®Home Space includes three crypts, and those brave enough to explore them will find the first two filled with Burn Zombie Burn! goodies and extras, including a challenging hedge maze mini-game for up to six players. About Burn Zombie Burn!

Set across six classic American-horror-movie inspired levels, Burn Zombie Burn! is a top-down, arena-based shoot-em-up in the classic coin-op tradition featuring next-gen game-play mechanics and possessing that 'one-more-go' addictiveness which defines all of the great shooters.

The aim of the game couldn't be simpler; shoot, burn and blow-up as many brain-munching zombies as possible. Use fire to build up your multiplier and then destroy zombies en masse with explosives to increase that oh-so-important leaderboard high score.  But beware! A burning zombie is a faster zombie - burn too many and they will overwhelm you.

Burn Zombie Burn! is frantic, arcade gaming at its best - delivering dark humor and bloody zombie violence in copious amounts!
