AbleGamers.com Launches New Review Section
 |
First of its Kind Video
Game Review Section with Accessibility at its core
Harpers Ferry, WV - The AbleGamers Foundation is proud
to announce the launch of a first of its kind mainstream video game review section for those with disabilities on its community
portal AbleGamers.com. The AbleGamers review section concentrates on accessibility factors that will affect various disabilities
and recommends whether to play the game to each of those specific disabled groups. Each game title is given
a score from 1 to 10 in the areas of visual disabilities, hearing disabilities, and motion impaired disabilities. The
overall score is then calculated, along with additional details such as the presence of close captioning, speed settings,
difficulty settings, colorblind options, and many more game accessibility standards. "There are countless
sites out there that review games for their graphics and sound, but no one is looking at the game from the standpoint of accessibility.
With 63 million Americans with disabilities this is a focus that is needed and who better to do it than the flagship site
for disabled gamers, AbleGamers.com," says Mark C. Barlet, President of the AbleGamers Foundation. He adds, "I hope
that game makers now add AbleGamers to their list of news outlets to send review copies to" Studies
show that as much as 9% of all gamers are disabled, and as such AbleGamers was created to guide disabled gamers through mainstream
gaming with its first of its kind video game review section. http://www.AbleGamers.com/reviews is the location of the review section.

"No
More Heroes" Coming to Xbox 360 + PlayStation 3!

The Wii cult classic, No More Heroes is coming to the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3! As you can see from the above image, the game has received a massive graphical
overhaul. We're not sure yet how the new version will translate the Wii's fantastic motion controls. However there is talk
the game will make heavy use of the controller analog sticks to replicate the Wii's sword swinging action. Being huge fans
of the original game we're very excited about this upgraded port. Unfortunately no solid release date has been announced,
nor do we know if this game will come to the United States. We'll be sure to keep you updated once we
receive more information.

Happy Birthday to Shigeru Miyamoto!
 The
gang at DigThatBox.com would like to formally wish Shigeru Miyamoto a very Happy Birthday! Miyamoto was born on November 16th, 1952 in Sonobe cho, Kyoto Japan. He has been called the "father
of modern video games." His creations have brought joy to millions. He is the creator of Mario & Luigi, Donkey
Kong, the Zelda series, and many other legendary games.
I have been fortunate enough to meet Miyamoto himself on
several different occasions. He is as humble and polite as he is brilliant. His strong character and friendly, open demeanor
prove this is one legend who has not let success go to his head. We wish him all the best in the upcoming year. And best of
luck with all of his new projects!
We can't wait to see what he has in store for us next! Submitted By: E. Eighth-Annual Electronic Game Show Draws 30,000
Latin America's Largest Videogame Event Reflects Continued Industry
Growth
Mexico City-Nov. 3, 2009 - Mexico City was
buzzing with all things videogame-related Oct. 23-25, as the eighth-annual Electronic Game Show filled the Expo Bancomer Santa
Fe with more than 30,000 attendees. EGS 2009 continued the show's reign as the largest and most influential
videogame event in Latin America. During its three-day run, EGS 2009 drew consumers, media and business executives in an event
that demonstrated the dynamic growth in the Latin American videogame industry. Exhibitors at EGS 2009 included
major videogame companies such as Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Konami, Activision, Blizzard, Sega, Warner Brothers Interactive,
THQ and Disney Interactive Studios. Consumers and journalists in attendance were treated to demonstrations of hundreds of
titles, including dozens of pre-release games. Among the high-profile games on display at EGS 2009 were Dante's Inferno and
Brutal Legend from Electronic Arts, DJ Hero from Activision, ProEvolution Soccer 2010 from Konami, and Bayonetta from Sega. "EGS 2009 once again illustrated the continued growth of the Latin American videogame industry," said
Jorge Lizarraga, CEO of the show-organizing company Oelli. "As the Latin American market continues to expand, the importance
of networking and developing strong relationships with consumers expands as well. EGS and its sister show, EGS Business, have
proven to be essential to the process of growing and strengthening the industry." For more information
